We’ve now enable mod_pagespeed on our customers websites, adding to our stacking of caching and performance enhancing solutions. You might of heard of Googles Pagespeed Insights tester, which tells you how to improve your site, given that google likes speedy sites, and I would imagine, prioritizes fast content over slow content, it’s really a good idea to get as many points as you can.

Currently we’re running it at the Apache level which means it takes care of CSS, JS rewriting, and for the time being we’re processing images too, although we will switch image processing to our nginx module which handles static content to reduce load. If you add in Cloudflare CDN on top of this, you have the ultimate content delivery system with enhanced security features too.
